What is the importance of art in changing society? What habits drive the direction of our lives? Whom are we serving through our work? What do we believe, and whom do we believe in?
In May 2026, I was invited to deliver the keynote address at the Evolving Rhythms Conference at the University of Alberta's Anthropology Department in Edmonton. The theme of the conference was Bodies of Knowledge, Movements of Change: ACB Movement Systems for Personal, Communal, and National Development.
To honour this theme, I wrote and delivered a 45-minute lecture on Building Our Infrastructure for the Revolution. It connects dance and arts practices on the micro level to the macro practices needed for revolutionary change toward societies free of oppression. With enough of us working together, we can change the world.
